Toothache: what can you do before the appointment?

Dental pain may be linked to deep decay, nerve inflammation, infection or trauma. Until the appointment, avoid heating the area, keep gentle hygiene and do not apply irritating products directly to the gum. Painkillers may provide temporary relief according to medical advice, but they do not treat the cause. Severe pain, swelling or fever requires urgent care.
